Krišjānis Kariņš, member of the party VIENOTĪBA (EPP), is the most influential Latvian MEP. He is the head of Latvian delegation in the EPP and the political coordinator of his group in the key Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. He also drafted several legislative files, such as a report on the common rules for the internal market in electricity, as well as a report on the transparency of financial transactions and of corporate entities.
