A survey of parliamentary voting records since last June’s European elections shows that the European People’s Party (EPP) does not always win the votes. The VoteWatch poll says the group, once again parliament’s biggest, has found it harder to gain a winning majority despite increasing in size in the elections.
Its record as a member of the winning coalition is, according to the independent website VoteWatch.eu particularly poor in budget votes where it has been on the losing side in 21 per cent of the votes during the current term. In the last parliament, in contrast, the EPP lost in only 8.5 per cent of budget votes. (click here to see the article)
