- Assistant judge at the Court in Santa Cruz de la Palma (1986-1988). Legal adviser to the La Palma Island Council (since 1985).
- Chairman of the Partido Popular in La Palma (2001-2004). Deputy Secretary-General of the Partido Popular in the Canary Islands (2004-2007). Member of the National Executive Bureau of the Partido Popular (since 2000).
